Jeksar AM manufactured by Jekar Pharma, is an effective combination of Amlodipine with telmisartan. It is used to treat hypertension and may help reduce the stroke and heart attack risk. Initially, individual medication is prescribed and if required combination is recommended.
Dosage
It varies as per the patient’s health conditions and the doctor’s instructions. A dose of 5-10 mg of amlodipine and 40-80 mg of telmisartan orally once a day is suggested.

Telmisartan blocks the angiotensin receptor and amlodipine stops the calcium channel, both together work differently to widen the blood vessels, improve blood circulation, and support healthy normal heart functioning.

- It may cause sleepiness hence avoid driving and work requiring concentrating until get used to the medication.
- In case of dizziness, do not panic, calm down and slowly change position.
- Prohibit alcohol consumption.
- If the ankle or feet start swelling consult the doctor immediately.
- Avoid high-fat, spicy and salty foods, eat a balanced diet, drink an adequate amount of water, and follow a healthy lifestyle.
- Be active throughout the day and engage in desired physical activity.
- Keep stress at a low level and practice mind-calming activities like yoga, meditation, book reading and music listening.
- Get daily required optimum amount of rest and sleep.

Avoid in times of preconception or trying to conceive, pregnancy and lactation.
Guidance if medication missed
Restrict double dosing, take as soon as it is remembered but if the next dose is nearing skip the previous one and consume the next scheduled dose.
Drug interactions : Inform the doctor in case of kidney disease dialysis, liver disease, electrolyte imbalance, on low salt diet, consuming diuretics, another angiotensin receptor blocker, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
